In contemporary Los Angeles style, the posh event featured over a dozen sponsors, 200 attendees, bowties, bowls, and even a cannabis layered cake. The ball brought together veteran armed forces servicemen and servicewomen into an open dialogue about cannabis and to encourage access to the healing plant without fear and negative stigmas.

“This was an amazing opportunity to celebrate veterans with a night dedicated just for them to be themselves in a glorious and engaging experience,” said Mariah Dodson, co-founder and COO of Dust to Diamonds Incorporated. “As a U.S. Army Logistics Specialist, it means a lot for us to be recognized for our service and dedication to our country.”

“The Veterans Cannabis Coalition put this event together to showcase different ways for people to interact with cannabis, the natural relationship between veterans and cannabis, and to help normalize the perception of the herb in the eyes of the general public,” said Eric Goepel, founder & CEO, Veterans Cannabis Coalition. “We see this as part of our overall mission to end prohibition and hope to use events like these to build political support for cannabis reform legislation.”

“Cannabis allows an option for veterans to rehabilitate their lives on a holistic foundation and empowers proper healing mechanisms to maximize their well being after serving our country,” said Vanessa Macias, co-founder and CEO of Dust to Diamonds Incorporated.

Sponsors of the 2nd Annual Veterans Cannabis Ball included Papa & Barkley, Cannabis Catered Events, Grandma Baker’s WuGoo goods, Kikoko infused teas, Epic Vape, Boundless Technology, Rosin Tech, Maui Ben Farms, Sprig Water, Rancho Ecomar Farms, and Flos Energy CBD.

“My mother, Lori Reyes-DeSanti, provided 25 years of Social Work, and recovery treatment for trauma, PTSD, and addictions therapy. So it’s important to us that we be part of this cause,” said Nicholas Corsalini, Owner and CMO of Glori Blends. “We want to heal the world through hemp.”
