Palo Santo- is a mystical tree that grows on the coast of South America and is related to Frankincense, Myrrh and Copal. In Spanish, the name literally means “Holy Wood.” It is part of the citrus family and has sweet notes of pine, mint and lemon. It is ceremonially used for its cleansing and healing energies much like Cedar and Sage.
Sage- an aromatic plant with grayish-green leaves that are used as a culinary herb, native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean. This herb has been recorded throughout the world for use in food and medicine since the 1700’s.
Smudging – Smudging is a symbolic exercise found in feng shui practice, many Native American traditions, and alternative healing practices. It involves burning selected herbs or other materials in a manner that fills the home or other space with the fragrance of the smoke, and it is thought to clear negative energy.
