California City-Last Saturday’s much touted Job Fair at the Strata Center went off huge as Dust to Diamonds Inc. CEO’s Mariah Dodson and Vanessa Macias rolled out a Job Fair extravaganza replete with vendors seeking employees in many local fields as well as the long awaited cannabis jobs that so many local Cal City residents seek. Free haircuts and clothes for job seekers needing a leg up on the competition, and friendly reps that performed interviews there on the spot for the three hundred people that lined the parking lot of the Strata center from one end to the other all seeking employment and a better life now that things are rolling here in Cal City.
The entire parking lot was filled with cars before the 10 a.m. start of the Dust to Diamonds Job Fair and the hundreds that lined up outside the Strata Center stood their ground in the sunshine morning as they were let in, ten at a time, to keep order and allow for personal time inside. Many people were seen filling out applications on the spot and others passing out their resumes to the many vendors who had booths at the fair.
Among them were the Diamonds of course with a large booth introducing their new holistic healing product line including lip balms and salves. A small room was solely dedicated to their empowerment seminars and became such an attraction that it had to be moved to the larger, gym area where all the applicants could benefit from the message. Bill Faulconer, owner of Room to Grow Greenhouses and Supplies in Lancaster, spoke as an industry expert and gave a wonderful introduction to many of the industry history and standards. Toryum Woods, a local motivational speaker empowered the applicants and gave them a mental breakdown of what success looks and sounds like. The many personnel on hand made sure to seek out as many applicants for the new cannabis industry now well underway in the city.
Price Academy of Self Defense and Security Guard Training had their own booth for the many security jobs that the industry will need. Master Price trains both armed and unarmed security Guards through their Guard Card and ready for employment. California City Wonder Acres Market Shell Station also had a booth on site in conjunction with RST-Ramos/Strong Transport LLC fuel distribution. Siempre Tax also had a booth on hand offering a free tax seminar to future employees, while in the back of the auditorium Estilo Divino-a Hair Salon out of Downey gave free haircuts to potential employees, and out back free clothes were offered for folks who need some fashion assistance for that professional look. All in all, one well-organized fair and one of the biggest turnouts in memory.. Kudos to the Dust to Diamonds Inc. tribe. for their splendid work in producing such a successful Job Fair and hats off to all who made the decision to be part of the success in Cal City.
